Beige G3 + Radeon 7000 PCI + YDL 3.0

Hello y'all,
  Has anyone had problems (and solved them) trying to get
YDL 3.0 running with XFree86 on a Beige G3 with the ATI Radeon
7000?
  The only way I was able to install YDL was to connect the
monitor to the build-in RagePro II.  Otherwise when the installer started
is was badly color shifted (light violet) and scrunched into the
left-hand 1/3 to 1/2 of the screen.
  I'm at work now and my YDL box is at home, so any suggestions
would be appreciated.
