Installing YDL 3 on a Rev C iMac

Hello,

I'm wondering if it's possible to install OS 9, X and YDL on a tray 
loading iMac while respecting the infamous "first 8 Gb scheme"...

Basically, if only the bootloader is in the first 8Gb, will YDL boot?
I'm thinking of using the following config: 1Gb for OS9, 6.9Gb for OS 
X.3 -> (full install with lots of extra software), 1Mb for YDL's 
bootloader and everything else : documents, YDL proper (full install), 
MP3s, etc. on separate "deeper" partitions.

I'll be upgrading my HD soon and would like to get YDL on this machine 
but without sacrificing the other OSs.
