Michael,
    The YellowDog HOW-TO is certainly the way to go. As I re-read your 
message your situation certainly falls under the "If the HFS boot 
partition is after Mac OS..." section which, as I'm sure you've read, 
has a few options for bringing the yaboot menu back. Good luck and have
