Is Apple better than Windows ?

I upgraded (?) my pwb G4 12 " from 1.2.6 to 1.2.8 and then no more 
linux on my powerbook.
The problem is the same that i seen on the list (the pwb have a shut 
down quite as soon as it starts).
But:
I resetted the pram many times;
I resetted the firmware many times (reset-all and reset-nvram at 
firmware boot);
I reinstalled X 10.2.3 many times;
I reinstalled YDL many times.
( I cried many times too!!)
But what more can i do to boot YDL on my powerbook ?
Thanks a lot.
No more upgrades, only downgrades from apple.
