Exclude hidden files/folders from backup

You didn't mention why you want to exclude hidden files and directories.
Unless this is a specialized backup (i.e., not for system recovery), I =
don't
think it's a good idea to exclude hidden files and directories.  There =
are
too many hidden files that are necessary for a successful recovery to =
skip
over them.=20
If hidden directories are causing a space problem, you may want to =
consider
scripting a more specific backup. If you do, remember to use the =
no-rewind
tape device.
