Bless you, Sir! I backed up what I had, pasted that in with one typo which
may be of interest, corrected that, and it appears to be running normally;
at least it's well past asking "Is this OK?" which is farther than my
ydl.net one had gotten yet.

The typo was merely a failure to copy the initial character of "[main]" at
the beginning. What happened was that YDL found either yum.conf.bk or
yum.conf.save (which it had created; I didn't), and tried to run that. An
attempt to idiot-proof yum, no doubt, and I'm glad it's there, even though
it died at the usual stage this time.

ibiblio does have a good name; I'm not surprised to see it deserved.

Bless you again! I don't mind supporting Terrasoft, even when it has
troubles; but I want things to work.

Question : what means that about the bootloader and kernel?? (I now have
only YDL on this machine -- no OSX at all.)

Errr .... Ummmm .... Yaaaass ... I'm very glad of your endorsement of
ibiblio.

I've emailed the detailed instructions to my account, and will also run
them through abiword and print them out to study. <I snip them here.>
Many, many thanks!
