Open Office 1.1 upgrade; can't save documents!

Thanks to those who responded. However, before posting my initial
report, I had already read through the install directions and I also
verified that the permissions were set correctly. The issue seems to be
symbolic links.

To replicate:
1) From Nautilus, create a link for a OO document in any folder within
your home directory.
2) Drag and drop this link to the Gnome desktop.
3) Start up OO by clicking on the desktop link for the document.
4) Edit the document and save. It won't let you saying it "can't save a
backup copy".

Doing the same thing by starting OO from the original document (via
Nautilus) works fine and allows for saving.

Current workaround: don't use symbolic links to when working with OO.

Looking at Issuezilla this was reported back in Oct, 2003 as issue
21034. (http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=21034)
