Friends;
Midnight Commander is a file management utility that is said to resemble
the DOS utility Norton Commander:

Joe Bolin has written a CLI for Noobies article expostulating on the
usefulness of Midnight Commander in a console for file management and
launching. Midnight Commander is available through yum for Yellow Dog
Linux, and can be invoked using the command "mc".
I note in passing that Midnight Commander is one of those elaborate and
useful "command line" utilities that come awfully close to being a GUI. ;-)
Best wishes,
Clint
