Apache Problem - Memory Leak - YDL 3.0

I'm trying to get apache running but without success.
Using apachectl and even System Configuration, apache seems to start OK,
no failures reported, but it doesn't generate a process file. So I tried
the status option and here's the result:

        # /usr/sbin/apachectl configtest
        Syntax OK
        # /usr/sbin/apachectl start
        # /usr/sbin/apachectl status

        Connection refused

        Memory leak by 162 bytes

        List of blocks: 0x100dca00:128 @ dns.c:308, 0x100dc698:34 @
        dns.c:303

        Forcing core dump

I saw a previous thread on this same issue and it was indicated that the
user had to reinstall YDL 3.0 as a workstation without a firewall in
order to get apache to work."Something else that was installed in the
full installation was apparently interfering with httpd running."

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'd really rather not go to that
extent just yet.

thx
