Hi Jeff,

I forgot to mention, that once in OF, you can use the "devalias" 
command, to list all aliased short names of your devices.

Trying that myself, I realized that ultra0 is an alias to the first 
(master) disk on the internal ATA controller of a G4. I don't know, 
whether that applies to your G3 as well. Try and find the device for 
your internal disk and use that with the partition where the boot 
loader resides.
