Whoops--Kernel Panic

Hi all,

just had the new experience of doing a full install of YDL on a 20 GB HDD in
a Beige G3, everything was running fine until the ADB cord got pulled out.
Now the machine just gives me a 'kernel panic: VSF: Unable to mount root fs
on 03:06' It was running fine before my mishap, (machine is in a temporary
spot). Is there anyway to repair this type of problem without a complete
re-installation?
