(crossposted to the Newbie list - since I'm a newbie!)
I=92m having a heck of time trying to get YDL 3.0.1 installed on my=20
machine.
Here=92s my setup:
Dual 867 G4 (Mirrored Drive Doors)
1 gig RAM
4 hard drives inside - jumpered (as Apple suggests) as Cable Select
Apple Keyboard
Logitech Wheel Mouse
Generic 17=94 flatscreen monitor.
When I boot from the YDL CD, it goes thru the starup process, and then,=20=
at the first blue screen it hangs - at the bottom of the screen, I see=20=
(if I remember correctly):
TAB to Select
Alt-TAB to Select previous
F12 To Continue
No matter what key I press, I=92m stuck there.
What I=92ve tried.
Taking the two drives in the front bay offline (unplugged the IDE=20
ribbon from the motherboard.
Taking my non-boot drive offline (physically removing it from the=20
computer).
Re-Jumpering the boot drive (which is a 160 gig drive - partitioned as=20=
100 gigs for Mac OS X 10.3.3, and 60 gigs unused - for Linux) as a=20
master.
None of these things seem to have made a difference - I get the blue=20
screen of hang.
Is it possible that the drive is partioned incorrecly, and that the=20
=93unused=94 part has to be partition #1? That=92s the ONLY thing I can =
think=20
of.
Thanks in advance,
George Katele
