Upgrading GIMP to 2+

I've got GIMP2 installed on my YDL3.0 box using GARNOME
(http://cipherfunk.org/garnome/), GNOME 2.6, and a yum update from
freshrpms.net. GARNOME allows a new build of GNOME on your system without
affecting the existing GNOME installation (all of my GNOME 2.6 is installed
under /usr/local/gnome2.6, for instance) -- it's a nice way to try out the
latest while we are all waiting for YDL4.0. I'm currently compiling GNOME
2.8 (the base desktop compiled without errors), and I'll let you know how it
works out.
