YDL install problems on a B&W G3

Mark,
Your problems seem eerily similar to one I had recently. I was
successful in installing YDL 4.0.1 on my B&W G3/450
onto a partition on a 20Gb IDE (the other partition was HFS+) and there
are three SCSI disks internally also. Stock video,
nothing else out of the ordinary except the IDE CD-ROM which is a
no-name 52x24x24 CD-RW. The install went fine,
except that on reboot the yaboot did not allow a valid startup so I
bailed.
The weird thing is that when I tried to do the same install on my
Pismo/400, the CD refused to boot at all! I got a blank screen
and had to force-boot to restart.
Email me off-list if you want to know why I'm glad 4.0.1 did not
install on the laptop.
