RFC: YDL Extras

I'd be willing to do some uploading on this except for the problem
that I can't use CVS (my DSL has decided its 'special' for some
reason). Would SSL'ed FTP be a possibility?

Also, what legality level would be accepted for packages? Would
potentially patent encumbered packages - such as full XMMS, ffmpeg,
mplayer, vlc, Handbrake, and so on, be allowed. Some of these are the
most interesting and the most mentally painful to build for a new user
- VLC in particular needs around 30 srpms compiled and installeds,
many of which are co-dependent.
