It's still early days for auto-parallelism and auto-SIMD things on the
Cell, so I would not rely on it.  At the moment, if you want the speed,
you need to do your own SPU coding.  Note that due to the architecture
of the Cell, decisions about exactly how you slice and dice your
problem space will be crucial, and no amount of clever compiling can
pick your algorithms for you.
