[ydl-gen] YDL 6 on a ibook G4 800 Mhz

I haven't had a problem with my (early) dual 2Ghz PM. The power supply on an early
dual G5 XServe at my previous job died while the machine was off and in storage. Worked
while in my office, then didn't work when next powered on. I did point them at the motherboard
battery as a possible culprit (an early PowerMac I had refused to boot when the MB battery died),
but IT was convinced that the power supply failed.
Bad part of that was that it would have been cheaper to get a used G5 XServe off of Ebay than
order a replacement power supply.....

My failure occurred on a 1.8 GHz single processor (which uses air
cooling). If one searches the net, there are a huge number of very
scary stories about power supplies failing on many of the air cooled
G5s, sometimes in a very violent fashion (sounding like a rifle shot
and disrupting entire offices). Mine might have been loud (I wasn't
home when it happened), but the smell was awful and stayed in the
room for a very long time; also there was black charing all over the
machine and power supply. Replacing the supply wasn't as easy as it
could have been, from my experience with other Apple products (it fit
very awkwardly in the box).
cheers,
