[ydl-gen] wi-fi connection (angelo_da_re)

I spent some time before getting wifi to work on the PS3 (YDL 6.1).

Wicd is really just a graphical interface to the network settings, so after
a while, I stopped using it and instead used the plain network manager.
Global DNS doesn't really help unless you have multiple IP interfaces active
(it just saves time)
Set your primary DNS server address to your main router/modem like you did,
then leave the 2nd and 3rd empty.

The trick here, is when you enter your WEP or WPA key: make sure you type x0
(lowercase x, number 0) then your key.
Example: x0mywifikey

Make sure your wifi interface is active - if it already is, then de-activate
then re-activate it to reload the settings.

Never be afraid to restart linux when in doubts - some processes are
difficult to restart and a reboot always does the trick.

Let us know if this helps.

Thierry

If I try to access rhe net via Wicd, it always says "not connected". I use
static DNS, giving the address of the modem and, as secondary DNS,
0.0.0.0.Should I use global DNS? or should I fill the DNS3 field ? In this
case, with what? If anyone can help, it would be greatly apprciated. Thanks
in advance.
