3 problems

hope you can help

i have managed to instal YDL2.1 on my iMac which  is running 8.1  got
everything going (on my own!!) and wondered what all the fuss was about
using linux

that was until i really tried to use it
the probs are

1 MOL after molvconfig and guessing at a resolution and then startmol a new
screen opens, sometimes with the mac face sometimes just grey and then does
nothing.  there is a whole load of stuff in the terminal window saying time
not set?

what am i doing wrong it should run in 8.1?

2 can not get modem working or even found?

3 can not print have tried various aproached

any thoughts?
