Cursor-problem with YDL2.2 and PowerBook

Hello everyone. As you can assume from the fact that I post here, I
am a new user of YDL!

I have successfully installed 2.2 onto one of those dreaded and
infamous PowerBooks 1998 with passive-matrix monitors and the extra
kernel parameter "video=atyfb:vmode:10" has been a real life saver,
as it finally allowed me to see things on the screen :-)

The problem I am having is that, after the installation is completed
and KDE starts up, the cursor remains fixed right in the middle of
the monitor and does not react either to the trackpad or to an
external mouse. What's strange is the fact that the system informs me
that it is configuring the trackpad and mouse emulation correctly,
during starts up, so I would not expect anything wrong. Moreover,
moving the cursor, even when the white-on-black text is displaying
causes the blinking cursor to move, which indicates to me that the
cursor is indeed responding...up to the point after the login kicks
in and the graphical interface takes over.

Has anybody any idea what could be causing this?

Cheers,

Paolo
