samba question, can't write to directory from W2k to ydl

Here is what I hope is the relevant part of smb.conf. 
I can't write to the samba directory from the w2k
machine, gives me a source file in use or access
denied when i try and drag and drop.  If someone has a
smb.conf that is working, I wouldn't be against
cutting and pasting the appropriate parts.

# A publicly accessible directory, but read only,
except for people in
# the "staff" group
[public]
   comment = Public Stuff
   path = /mnt/storage/files
   public = yes
   writable = yes
   printable = no
   browseable = yes
   available = yes
   guest only = no
   guest ok = yes
