X problems

Downloaded and installed YDL 2.3 on my PPC9500 with the following attributes=
XLR8 MACh Carrier G3/500 (still at factory default, ie- not overclocked)
Physical RAM= 288MB
SCSIBus 0
2GB Quantam= ID O (terminated and Mac OS9.1 drive)
4GB Quantam= ID 1
CD-ROM (Original I believe)= ID 3
the 9500s' internal control @ ID 7
SCSI Bus 1 (the External 5MBps Bus)
ID2= Ricoh MP6201 CD-R/W
ID5= IOmega Zip 100 (terminated)
SCSI Bus 2 (Adaptec 2930)
IDo= 9GB Barracuda (ST19171N formated HFS+)
ID1= 9GB Cheetah (ST19291n= LINUX DRIVE, w/10MB, boot, 576MB Swap, the rest set for "MAX" Linux)
ID2= 9GB IBM UltraStar ES___(DDRS-39130D HFS+)
PCI Slot order
A1= Adaptec 2930
1= Digidesign AMIII
F2= ATI "Mac" Radeon w/Charisma
I've tried "every" resolution that the page http://www.yellowdoglinux.com/support/installation/guide.shtml#notes suggests, but I still get no X.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated!
