mol and loss of bootload

Last night, I ran Linux On Mac. It still doesn't recognize my Apple key,
but that's not my problem. I was letting a Microsoft user try my
machine, and he toggled back to Gnome, and shut down the computer. This
morning when I tried to turn it on, it had lost the bootload sector. The
fix is on the YDL list of solutions

and it worked, but I'm wondering. Anybody else have this happen after
using MOL?
