installing Linux on disk image

I'm stumped, Dave. I imagine there are making-iso howto's out there
somewhere. STFW? I have never done it, so I don't know. I do know, however,
that the mighty "dd" command can do just about all the damage one's
fingertips can conjure up. If you just want to copy data from one
file/device/pipe to another, this is the tool.

I don't fully understand what you're trying to do. I haven't followed the
thread very closely. But I know you're going down the wrong road if you're
thinking you can run Linux inside OS X. Again, I'm not sure what your
ultimate goal is in getting the Linux images onto another disk. If you can
mount the other partition R/W when YDL is running, just copy the files.
