Problem with ethernet on 15" LCD Imac

I have a 15"LCD Imac with YDL 2.3 installed.
Evrything seems to go ok but when i want to connect to the internet the =
ethernet interface won't connect.
I have chosen static IP because when i selected DHCP it would not pick =
it up. The problem is that ocourse it cen send a pin to itself but does =
not see the rest of mij network.
Tested the cables and evrything is ok.
Just 30 minutes before installing YDL 2.3 i was surfing with OS X. The =
systems is using it's sungem driver, it detects the card imediatly when =
installing YDL.
What is wrong?? can anybody please help.
