Sound

Ok, I installed YDL 2.3 on my IMAC 500 mz slot loading machine.  I used default everything, and everthing seems to have gone beautifully except for one thing (So far anyway).

Sound isn't working.  I get the following error message.

device /dev/dsp can't be opened

I am a total newbie here.  What do I do to fix this?
