Mount point loss and Crashing; ZipDrive

Greetings fellow newbie-friendlies:

I am having a rather consistent
problem with losing my root mount
point (/) after having installed
dual-boot YDL3.0/OS9.1 on my G3
Lombard.  It seems to be related
exclusively with crashing/hanging
either YDL3.0 or OS9.1, after which
only OS9.1 will reboot, and YDL must
be reinstalled.  I assume that the
content of the Ext3 and swap
partitions are still there, but the
(/) has been removed when I re-edit
with Disk Druid or pdisk.  Such
happens whether I choose YDL or Mac
as the default boot.

Another major hangup I'm having is
that of trying to input files to YDL
(while I still have a working
install), preferably by my internal
ZipDrive (VST Zip100).  Does anyone
know how I can mount it, or an
external SCSI drive, to YDL?
