help with install on G3 Beige

All original parts
OS 9.1 installed.
Followed the instructions to a T.
Install runs fine until I get to TextUtils 2.0.21-5 rpm install.
Hangs. Has been hanging since last night
Has original mac keboard and mouse.
Has original scsi card and drive
Has original nic.
No clue.
Same thing happens when I try to install on G4 Dual 500 mhz .
