doesn't recognize radeon pci 2001

I have installed YDL 3.0 with gnome. (because KDE won't install)
And at the startup all is fine exept that i get an error message 
without graphical interface (like in DOS in blue and white), without 
Text but with just Yes or No. :-) I use Yes and after it's back to 
blank text with black screen, saying me "using radeon generic" trying 
and "can't launch X windows" trying using radeon mach 64" and same 
message after.
Someone has an idea of what i could do?
