C-Media CMi8738 Sound Ccard initialisation error

I have Red Hat Linux 7.3 & C-Media CMi8738 Sound card, I get the following error while kde Starts & I can't hear any sound.
Sound server informational message: Error while initializing the sound driver: device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such device) The sound server will continue, using the null output device.
Please help.
