2.  The default Palm software doesn't recognize my Handspring Visor's
USB 
cradle.

This is even a pain on a x86 box, Jason....

I have to use pilot-xfer from the command line.

Worst of all, I have to have EXACT timing in order for the /dev/pilot link
to show up.

1 - Press the button on the PP....
2 - Watch the disk lights to see if probably within a second the device gets
created.
3 - Press return on the command line to get pilot-xfer to do its magic.

Usually I have to do this twice, or at most three times, before the two
sides of the USB fence play nice.
