Krischan,

Thank you very much for the reply. I have had a quick look at qCAD for OSX and it seems a fairly stable and well thought out program...

Do you simply compile the source as per their instructions? Or are there some extra steps required for PPC distros? Can I comtact you again through the mailing list for future help?

On the subject of CAD...Do you have any experience with any 3D packages for YDL...? Blender? etc? I'm happy with GIMP 2 as the paint package!

Many thanks.

Jacques Toerien.

Hello Jacques,

I recommend "qcad" ( http://www.ribbonsoft.com/qcad.html ). It is a lean, fast and powerfull CAD app. You can download the scource code (licence: GPL) and compile it under YDL 3.0.1. It works fine for me! qcad ist limited to 2d drawings. However it can handle "dxf"-files (AutoCAD ?) and comes with a small libary of parts.

Have fun!

Krischan
