startmol, i booted the -g kernel

No you do not have to install Mac OS again just boot MOL from the 
install CD one time so that MOL can copy the BootROM onto the hard 
drive and be able to recognize your Mac OS install.  Once the installer 
is booted you can usually just quit it and then take out the cd and 
startmol again and it should work then.
