ethernet card: working/not working

Turn on that firewall!!

Did you check that your IP address is manual or automatic and which
Pop-up using are using such as DHCP or something else??

Is eth0 active at boot or do you have to turn it on?
Do you have your own hostname?

Does the Network Config app see your ethernet card?
