Real simple: how do I see my cd drive?

Okay -- Mascaranarinaba-snake is right and I am wrong. Your CD-ROM is in 
"/mnt/cdrom", not "/dev/cdrom" like I said, and you have to "mount" it 
first as Maalox-snake described. I completely spaced out on that one, 
and you should disregard my answer.

At least, I hope I was right about how to "cd" to a directory! :-)
