Instructions for burning are available on the link above.  Refer to the 
directions which apply to you.
The YDL 5 .iso for the PS3 is HUGE.  The file is so large that even if 
you have access to a DSL or faster line (depending on what level of 
service you purchase) you the download of this one file can range from 
hours to minutes.  However, if all you can afford is a dial-up 
connection -- remember that even if you have a perfect connection you 
will have make sure no one interrupts that line for days until the 
download is complete.  If you don't have a fast download connection or 
have no access to one, then your only other resource is to buy the DVD 
from Terra Soft Solutions.

Keep in mind that although there are other versions of linux which are 
rumored to run on the PS3, the problem of accessing and downloading 
files huge enough for a DVD remain a problem -- as long as you cannot 
use DSL or faster connections.  You may have to buy a DVD or series of 
CDs from one distributor of linux or another eventually, without a 
high-speed connection.

It is to your advantage to refer to this reference regarding using 
md5sum to cross-check that the .iso file you downloaded is actually as 
good as that which is available at the mirrors -- before you burn a 
DVD.  Here's that link:

Finally, after the DVD is burned run mediacheck on it to insure that 
that disk is ok.
