I've looked for the "MOL Sound" output device, but didn't see this choice.
I've tried experimenting with the only choice available besides "CD," and
that is "Sound In." I've also tried to open the MOL Sound extension
(knowing it would fail), just to make my Mac aware of it. None of these
attempts worked.

Is this choice you mention, specific to MOL?

Two possible reasons for MOL sound not working (my thoughts):

1) My kernel has built-in sound support; no modules are loaded. Could
this effect how MOL works?

2) My AV sound board is different than other machines. Note, that
although Linux Gnome sounds work, as well as RealAudio and XMM mp3 player,
that the Gnome mixer does not.

Thanks for your suggestion, though.
