If the machine is "PowerBook 3,2" it should have Screamer and work with the
dmasound_pmac.o sound module.

Try Ben H's kernel from rsync:

penguinppc.org::linux-2.4-benh

or apply my latest patches:

ftp://ftp.penguinppc.org/users/iain/kernel/2_4_x/2.4.7p8-dmasound/dmas-2.4.7
p8.diff.bz2

to a standard BK kernel.

If sound does not work under Linux with this - let me know. If it does work
under linux then you may need to fiddle with the sound control panels under
MacOS and make sure you have the Mol driver shim engaged...
