OK,

I think that I'm making some progress, but I still could use some help.
I have configured an ethertap device in Linux and it seems to be up
as reported by ifconfig.

How do I config MOL/MacOS to talk to this interface and not over real
Ethernet? I assigned /dev/tap0 the IP address 192.168.1.1 (different
subnet from eth0) and set the Mac to be 192.168.1.2 (TCP/IP control
panel over Enet interface) but the 2 OSes can't ping each other.

TIA,

Tom
